Having completed her vocal studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, the Greek mezzo joined the Opera Studio of Marseilles. In 2000 she made her professional debut in the title role of Rossini’s La Cenerentola in Aix-en-Provence. She has performed at the Opera houses of Marseilles and Avignon as well as the Rossini Opera Festival of Pesaro before becoming a member of the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen in 2001.
Her operatic roles include Mozart’s Cherubino and Dorabella, Verdi’s Azucena in „Il Trovatore“ and Amneris in „Aida“, the title role in Bizet’s „Carmen“, and Rossini’s Rosina in „Il Barbiere di Siviglia“, a role she recently sang at the Greek National Opera in Athens.
Anna has also sung the leading parts in the world premieres of Alexander Müllenbachs Opera „Die Todesbrücke“ and Isidora Zebeljan’s Opera „Simon, der Erwählte“.
Anna has featured as a guest performer in many German Opera houses, including Hannover, Nürnberg and Bonn as well as in France, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland and Greece. She is an accomplished recitalist and oratorio singer and also enjoys appearing on luxury cruise liners where she charms the audience with a mixture of opera, operetta and popular songs from all over the world. more about Anna: http://www.anna-agathonos.com/
