Norah KingSoprano, Norah King trained at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Irish Academy of Music and ENO’s Opera Works. Her awards include the prestigious DipRAM, the Ernest Butcher Prize, the Clifton Prize for Singing, an MBF Music Education Award, Acton Travel Bursary and a Travel and Training Award from the Arts Council of Ireland. She is also a Britten-Pears, Samling and Bank of Ireland Millennium Scholar. Stage work to date includes Susanna/The Marriage of Figaro for English Touring Opera; Miss Jessel/The Turn of the Screw for Aldeburgh Music and Countess/The Marriage of Figaro for Opera East whilstconcert and recital appearances have included radio broadcasts with the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra, recitals and concerts at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Britten Studio, St James’s Piccadilly, St Paul’s Church Covent Garden and a concert tour of Japan with the New Crawford Piano Trio. She has participated in masterclasses with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Sir Thomas Allen, Dennis O’Neill, Roger Vignoles, Ileana Cotrubas, Della Jones, Ann Murray, Jane Eaglan and the late Philip Langridge.
